At Liberty Hygiene, we see ourselves not only as a fantastic company to do business with, but we see ourselves as responsible members of the community at large, and as such we believe that we have a moral obligation to do what we can to reduce the impact of our operations on the environment.
With this in mind, we are committed to investigate all opportunities that are environmentally friendly and as a result, we are please to note that the all of our incinerated waste is taken directly to the Western Riverside Waste Authority, where it is transported to Belvedere Incineration Plant, the largest EfW Facility in the UK and one of the largest in Europe, which will eventually generate up to 72MW of power.
Liberty Hygiene is also proud to announce that it has recently been awarded the ISO14001 certification, which is the principal management system standard which specifies the requirements for the formulation and maintenance of an EMS. This helps to control environmental aspects, reduce impacts and ensure legal compliance.
Waste To Energy Information
We choose not to landfill our sanitary waste and go the extra step that other companies by using a waste to energy plant (pictured below). The incineration process turns the steam into electricity, creating a renewable energy source.
